EVA watches proposed developments and infrastructure decisions that may affect land, water, air, wildlife, farms, schools, neighborhoods, and public health.
Many environmental impacts don’t happen all at once. They often happen through separate decisions — one project approved here, one wetland disturbed there, one new demand for water or power added somewhere else. EVA exists to help residents notice those patterns, understand what is being proposed, and participate before decisions are final.
What We Mean by “Watching”
When EVA says we are “watching” an issue, it means we are gathering public information, reviewing available records, following public notices, identifying comment opportunities, and asking questions about potential environmental and community impacts.
Watching does not mean every project is the same. It means the public deserves clear, accessible information before decisions are made — especially when a proposal may affect water use, air quality, farmland, wildlife habitat, schools, traffic, noise, public health, or the long-term character of a place.
Current Priority:
Foundry Ridge Energy Center
The Foundry Ridge Energy Center’s proposed gas plant is currently one of EVA’s priority watch areas because of its active public comment period, upcoming hearing, and potential local impacts near Darien, Wisconsin.

Data Center Development:
Project Cornmaze - Town of Turtle & Beloit, WI
Tracking the proposed Project Cornmaze data center development in the Town of Turtle and Beloit area, including questions about land use, water demand, energy infrastructure, local decision-making, farmland conversion, and the long-term impacts of large-scale data center development on nearby communities.
